Candidates want to know; what kind of career advancement exists, what reputation the employer has with current and previous staff, what work life balance they offer, if the position is stimulating and challenging, will they be able to further develop their skill set and learn, are there measurable results and will they feel valued as a core part of the team in a positive corporate culture.
Search Process
- I meet with clients to develop a strong understanding of what their search needs are including but not limited to; understanding what the team currently needs and what the future needs will be to learn how the role will evolve. Meet those connected to the position to develop a strong understanding of common communication patterns for reporting and team interaction. Gathering the information allows for a strong understanding of the fit required and contributes to finding the most ideal candidate. Understanding what company values are important to the organization also helps to make sure the successful candidate will be a long term team member.
- Together we develop or adjust a job description, if necessary, for the role if one does not exist. Once the job description is authorized by the client the search begins.
- I conduct a thorough search which includes active headhunting and utilizing industry knowledge to uncover top talent for the role. Then evaluate the candidates based on skill and competency for the role to narrow down the top talent.
- Conduct in depth interviewing of each candidate that meets the qualifications for the role and generate detailed interview notes from the interviews.
- Develop a short list of the top qualified candidates for the position and review with clients to select those for the clients team to interview. If necessary, I will help the employer and team prepare for the interviews to utilize the best use of everyone's time.
- Review interview results with client and begin conducting reference checks on the top candidate(s).
- Provide detailed reference notes to the employer for review and discussion, followed by selection of the top candidate for the role.
- Extension of offer of employment to the top candidate and I follow up on the second day of employment, one month, two month, three month and four month intervals to ensure open communication is being maintained with employee and employer and expectations are being met.
